The AEWC400 features a special grand concert sized comfort body with a soft Florentine cutaway, arm and back contours and an arched back. It has a laminated flamed maple top on flamed maple back and sides with a high gloss finish. The soundhole is round with an abalone rosette. It has a satin-finished asymmetric custom mahogany neck with a 25″ scale, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset white dot position markers. Components include a plastic saddle in a special top-loading rosewood bridge which eliminates the need for bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with onboard tuner powered by a 9V battery and balanced XLR and ¼” stereo output jacks. The pickup was renamed the S-Core for 2024, but it is the same unit.
